The d line
series is undeniably Holscher’s greatest international export success. Beginning
as a limited series of door handles specially designed for Odense University,
they have since become one of the world’s most extensive and recognised series
within Hardware, Bathroom, Washroom, Handrail, Wardrobe and Signs, and an
integral part of millions of people’s everyday lives.
Holscher strives to achieve discreet, elegant
minimalism in his work. When it comes to the point, luxury articles do not
interest him, even though the character of several articles he has produced is
in a positive sense exclusive. Finding ingenious solutions to the challenges of
everyday life arouses Knud Holscher’s interest far more than any elitist project.
